Leatherback the tortoise with more(tas)

Slowly and steadily outsmarting the competition.

Amphibious only means he will whup you on the land and in the water.

Leatherback the tortoise with more(tas) held the coveted title of Current Champ from Monday, June 23, 2008 to Wednesday, June 25, 2008, heartily vanquishing Hare-2-O to earn it. Unfortunately, brutal defeat came soon after, at the merciless hands of Dashing Delver.

This hero's magnaminous likeness was captured at the moment of glorious triumph by Sutter .

Audience

Quotes overheard while standing in the crowd that gathered to watch the carnage…

  1. More(tas) or Mortis?

  2. Well, in this context, it seems to me that the word "Tas" is actually tortoise for "Luck". Or "Chutzpah".

    bearskinrug | [ a ]

  3. That, or Sutter could've just wanted it to rhyme. >w>

    Pixieish | [ a ]

  4. Albinis! You will be avenged! ...Eventually!

    L | [ a ]

  5. That's a handlebar turtlestache, right?

    burt | [ a ]

  6. That's a handlebar turtlestache, right?

    burt | [ a ]

  7. I'm lovin' the 'stash. Does he have a Harley engine hid under that shell?

    ricki | [ a ]

  8. That guy has some junk in the trunk.

These last two heroes really remind me of the various Bugs Bunny cartoons where he would race a tortoise. And I think those were the only cartoons where Bugs actually "lost" (compared to those where he went up against Daffy, Elmer, Yosemite Sam, etc.). That's all folks.

  9. Yeah, the idea was just to make it rhyme. Although I guess you pronounce it with a TIS rather than a TAS. English is my second language. Give me a break.

    sutter | [ a ]

  10. What's your first language?

    St. Chris | [ a ]

  11. engrish?

    manicmanc | [ a ]

  12. Well, I guess "Lying" would be my first language... :D

    sutter | [ a ]

  13. Sutter is coming out of his shell, I see.

(That doesn't really mean anything. We just needed another turtle pun.)

    burt | [ a ]

  14. But the Leatherback is actually a turtle, so Sutter's first language is Lying.

Notwithstanding that, this is a cool Hero Matt! I love his oversized shell!

    Mountain Gnome | [ a ]

  15. The hero is an obvious metaphor for illegal Mexican immigrants in the United States

    Easey Peasey Lemon Squeasey | [ a ]

  16. Burt, you and your turtle puns can shut the shell up.

    Keaton | [ a ]

  17. Perhaps he has an evil twin: Terrorpin.

    Robert | [ a ]
