Never in my life did I think I'd see an "aura of panic" as a superpower. This game, as you call it, is a launchpad for inspiration. Cheers.
Some people find last-minute panic is the only thing that inspires them to start.
I've heard people say that. But in the end the deadline isn't helping them BE more creative. It's just they need to be scared into getting into that creative mode.
I used to have a creative director who purposely gave us ridiculous deadlines because he thought it had us produce better work. Which, to me, felt akin to "You slaves work so much faster when I whip you with this lash."
i have found that deadlines actually don't cut my brain capacity in half. they take my brain capacity and smash it against a wall until its nothing but a small gray puddle. it's rather scary.
